What we machine

Drive shafts, half shafts and stub axles – individually or as a set, for vehicles that vanished from the parts catalogue decades ago and for applications that never had a catalogue in the first place:
Drive shafts made to size
Any length, with a freely chosen spline profile at each end – involute splines, straight-sided splines or a custom profile from your sample. The shaft is dimensioned for your actual load case rather than a series-production compromise, machined from a single billet and heat-treated.Half shafts
For classic axle designs, either dimensionally faithful to the original or deliberately uprated. Uprated does not simply mean thicker here: material, heat treatment and spline geometry are adjusted together so the load arrives where the material can carry it.Stub axles
In various materials, ground and heat-treated – including for gearboxes whose original parts have been unavailable for decades. For Porsche gearboxes we make stub axles for the 915 and 930 as well as Nadella versions for the 901, 904, 908, 910 and 917.Special shafts
For prototypes, EV conversions, agricultural machinery and general mechanical engineering. With EV conversions in particular, torque curve and packaging rarely match the original shaft – so the shaft is built to your specification instead of to a catalogue.
Uprated axle shafts for the 356

For uprated Porsche 356s (110 to 150 hp) we machine uprated axle shafts with adapted splines – material, heat treatment and spline geometry designed together for the higher output. Together with the steel differential, 7:31 final drive and tall 4th gear, also available as the 356 complete package.
From a single billet, heat-treated
The decisive difference is in the construction: our shafts are machined from a single billet of high-strength steel – not welded, not joined – and then properly heat-treated. Splines are cut on our own machines and ground on request.
The result is a shaft dimensioned for your application instead of a series-production compromise: increased engine output, motorsport use, changed geometry from lowering or conversion – the shaft is engineered for exactly that load.
From sample to shaft

Send us the original shaft – broken is fine – or a drawing. We take dimensions, spline data and material requirements, create the CAD drawing in DWG/DXF format if needed, and machine the part entirely in-house. On request we fit stub axles and half shafts straight into the gearbox you send us and take care of the related setup work — refitting to the car is done by your local workshop.
Typical cases
Original shaft no longer available
The most common case with classic cars. We measure the existing shaft – broken is fine – determine spline data and material, create the drawing and machine the shaft anew. You keep the drawing for future reorders.Shaft fails with more power
Standard shafts are dimensioned for standard output. More torque, wider tyres or a different gearbox use up the safety margin, and the shaft twists or breaks at the splines. Our shafts are made from high-strength, heat-treated steel and calculated for the real load.Conversion calls for custom dimensions
Lowering, larger joints or a changed track width shift both length and articulation angle. We machine the correct length so the shaft runs free over the whole suspension travel – spline profile at each end to your specification.Shaft for a prototype or small series
For vehicles that do not exist yet there is no parts catalogue. From batch size 1 we machine to drawing or sample, with a measurement report on request – the usual route for test mules and small-series builds.
