The process
- Get in touch: a short call or the form — gearbox type, car and what the problem is. We will tell you whether and how we can help.
- Ship it: drain the oil, pack the gearbox securely and send it. Removal and refitting are done by your local workshop — we do not take in vehicles, we work on the removed gearbox.
- Strip and measure: every part is cleaned, inspected and measured. Only on that basis can anyone say what is really needed.
- Binding quote: you receive the scope in writing and decide how far the rebuild should go. Nothing happens without your approval.
- Rebuild: whatever is no longer available we machine on our own equipment — from dog rings to a complete final drive.
- Test bench and return: every gearbox runs on our test bench before it leaves. It comes back ready to install, documented, with your old parts.
What you need
- A local workshop (or your own lift) for removal and refitting
- A solid pallet or crate for shipping
- A little patience for the strip-down — the binding answer comes after it, not before
Individual parts too
Not everything has to arrive as a complete gearbox. Shafts and stub axles, gears and splines, limited-slip differentials or housings for water blasting and magnesium pickling are welcome on their own. For setting up a final drive or differential we do need the complete unit.
Faster from stock
If the season is pressing: for several types we keep ready-to-install gearboxes and assemblies in stock — and we are happy to take your defective gearbox in part exchange.
