356 Complete Package for 110–150 hp

Steel differential, limited slip and final drive — one matched package from one source

If your 356 makes well over stock power, we supply the matching gearbox package from one source: steel differential with 12-hole mounting, 7:31 final drive, uprated axle shafts with adapted splines and the tall 4th gear.

The package at a glance

Four building blocks, matched to each other, for the 356 at 110 to 150 hp:

  • Steel differential with 12-hole mounting
the durable core of the 356 gearbox — machined from high-grade steel, with a 12-hole crown-wheel mounting. More on our differential work: limited-slip differentials.
  • 7:31 final drive
the proven ratio for the 356 gearbox — ground teeth, numbered, with measurement report, available from stock.
  • Uprated axle shafts with adapted splines
machined from a single billet of high-strength steel, heat-treated — material, heat treatment and spline geometry designed together for the higher output. More: drive shafts & stub axles.
  • Tall 4th gear
the taller fourth gear makes an uprated 356 usable on the open road — the engine runs noticeably more relaxed at cruising speed.

Why a package

More power loads the whole chain: differential, final drive, shafts and gearing have to match, otherwise the weak point simply moves from one part to the next. The complete package is matched exactly for that — instead of collecting parts from different sources, you get one coherent system from one workshop, installed on request, set up and run on the test bench.

Individually or complete

Every building block is also available on its own — from the 7:31 final drive in stock to the made-to-measure uprated axle shaft. Tell us what your 356 makes and how it is driven, and we’ll put the right package together.

Common questions

01 Which cars is the package intended for?

For Porsche 356s with engine outputs in the region of 110 to 150 hp — typically after an uprated engine build. The stock gearbox was never designed for that output; the package brings the differential, final drive, shafts and gearing up to that level.

02 What exactly is included?

A steel differential with 12-hole mounting for the 356 gearbox, the 7:31 final drive, uprated axle shafts with adapted splines and a tall 4th gear. All matched to each other, all from one source.

03 Why a steel differential?

The steel differential replaces the stock part with a durable unit featuring a 12-hole crown-wheel mounting — the solid foundation when the gearbox has to carry more torque day in, day out.

04 Are the parts available individually?

Yes. Differential, 7:31 final drive and the uprated axle shafts are available individually — the final drive from stock. But the package only delivers its full benefit when the parts are fitted and set up as a whole.

05 Do you install it as well?

Yes. On request we install the package as part of a gearbox rebuild, set the final drive up to factory specification and run the gearbox on the test bench before it goes back.

What is on your bench?

Gearbox type and a few lines about your request — that is all we need for a first assessment. A photo helps but is not required. The answer comes from the machinist, not from sales.
