We machine the complete final drive — crown wheel and pinion — for the 901 gearbox of the early 911 on our own gear-cutting machines in Germany. The teeth are ground on the drive and coast sides to a tolerance in the region of 0.0025 mm, not milled and lapped. Serial numbering, a measurement report and the setting dimension for optimum running etched into the face of the pinion come with every set.

03 Can you also set up and install the final drive?

Yes. We're happy to take on installation and set-up to factory specification — including original setting tools, contact-pattern check and a final test-bench run. If you assemble the 901 gearbox yourself, the documented setting dimension comes with the parts.
