We machine the complete final drive — crown wheel and pinion — for the gearbox of the 904 Carrera GTS on our own gear-cutting machines in Germany. The teeth are ground on the drive and coast sides to a tolerance in the region of 0.0025 mm, not milled and lapped. Each unit ships serialised and with a measurement report; the setting dimension for optimum running is etched into the face of the pinion.

Set-up and installation from one source
Even the most precise final drive only runs quietly with the right backlash and a clean contact pattern. We’re therefore glad to take on installation and set-up to factory specification — sensibly combined with a gearbox rebuild or a limited-slip differential in the same job.
