Top quality from our own production

We machine the complete final drive — crown wheel and pinion — for the 915 gearbox of the 911 (1972–1986) on our own gear-cutting machines in Germany. The teeth are ground on the drive and coast sides to a tolerance in the region of 0.0025 mm, not milled and lapped. Every final drive is numbered and delivered with a measurement report; the setting dimension for optimum running is etched into the face of the pinion.

The best-known final drive in the programme is the 8:35 (i = 4.375) — the short racing ratio from the 911 RS and RSR, Porsche reference number 915 302 911 02, including the matching high-strength bolt set for the crown wheel.

In stock, ships immediately

The final drive for the 915 gearbox is in stock — as are the final drives for the 356, 901, 904, 906, 908, 908/03, 916 and 917. No production lead time: inquire, order, delivered.

Set-up and installation from one source

A precise final drive only performs with correct backlash and contact pattern. On request we install it and set it up to factory specification — ideally combined with a gearbox rebuild or a limited-slip differential in the same job. More about the gearbox itself: 915 gearbox.

Common questions

01 Is the final drive for the 915 gearbox available?

Yes, from stock. The final drive sits finished on our shelf and ships immediately — no production lead time. A quick inquiry is all it takes — then it's on its way.

02 How do I recognise the quality?

The gear teeth are ground on the drive and coast sides to a tolerance in the region of 0.0025 mm — not milled and lapped. Every final drive is numbered, each comes with a measurement report, and the setting dimension for optimum running is etched into the face of the pinion.

03 Can you also set up and install the final drive?

Yes. On request we install the final drive and set it up to factory specification — with original setting tools, contact-pattern check and a final test-bench run. If you install it yourself, the documented setting dimension comes with it.

What is on your bench?

Gearbox type and a few lines about your request — that is all we need for a first assessment. A photo helps but is not required. The answer comes from the machinist, not from sales.
